Corporate & Finance Associate - Cayman Islands
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially astute and driven Associate to join a highly regarded international law firm's Corporate and Finance practice in the Cayman Islands. This position offers exposure to high-calibre cross-border work in a sophisticated legal environment, advising global financial institutions, corporates, and investment managers.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver clear, accurate, and commercially aligned legal advice across a wide range of corporate and finance matters.
Contribute to the execution of complex transactions, including financing arrangements, restructurings, mergers, and corporate governance projects.
Collaborate closely with senior lawyers and partners to support client relationships and enhance service delivery.
Engage with international clients across time zones, delivering solutions-oriented legal support under tight deadlines.
Take ownership of workstreams and ensure consistent progress of matters from instruction through to completion.
Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
Actively participate in client development initiatives and contribute to marketing and business development strategies.
Maintain a high standard of timekeeping, file management, and compliance with the firm's billing and performance targets.
What We're Looking For
Admission to practice in a Commonwealth jurisdiction (e.g., England & Wales, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa) with a minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience in a leading international firm.
Strong grounding in banking and finance, corporate law, or funds-related work, with a track record of advising sophisticated clients on complex legal issues.
First-rate academic credentials and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Strong communication and drafting skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
Commercially minded, entrepreneurial, and adaptable with a proactive approach to client service and internal collaboration.
Experience working in or with offshore financial centres or clients is advantageous but not essential.
High proficiency in document drafting tools, legal research software, and Microsoft Office applications.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
