Associate Patent Attorney - Chemistry
We are working with a Tier 1 Patent Boutique firm who are looking to hire into their Chemistry team at an Associate level. The main focus will be across inorganic and industrial chemistry and will operate across contentious and non-contentious matters.
The firm are most well known for having a sensible work/life balance while also operating at a very high level. They can offer flexible working environments, hybrid working as well as strong progression through the firm. As well as their leading Patent teams across all technology focus', they also have a team of solicitors able to assist clients with litigation proceedings, and therefore are able to support clients through the entire life cycle of their patents.
Key Overview:
- Non-contentious work across Drafting and Prosecution of a range of Chemical patents on behalf of a range of innovative clients
- Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate searches as well as contentious work across oppositions and appeals
- Provide counsel on patent portfolio management and strategy
- Collaborate with inventors and external counsels
- Opportunity to get involved with litigation proceedings & support as the firm has a team of Patent solicitors to provide litigation support to clients
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field
- Qualified Patent Attorney (UK and/or EP), or finals level
- Focus on Chemistry, particularly across inorganic/industrial/materials chemistry
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Experience in patent prosecution and portfolio management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
